Home On The Range is located on 1600 acres in southwestern North Dakota and is home to abused, neglected or troubled teenagers. The children live at the ranch and are exposed to various farming and ranching experiences. Working on the ranch gives the children job experience and teaches responsibility, accountability, leadership and team work. It also teaches the children how to work hard, have a good work ethic and animal stewardship. The children help with various chores such as feeding the livestock, loading and unloading square hay bales, fencing, and horseback riding. Home On The Range uses their horses and dogs in therapeutic groups known as animal assisted therapy. The children also participate in therapy, seek spiritual guidance, and attend school. Once the child graduates from the program, they return to their families and communities.
