Animal Friends of Barbour County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) group that takes in stray and surrendered dogs and cats from residents in Barbour County, WV. We take in an average of 700 to 800 unwanted animals every year, including animals from the county shelter, which can kill them after 5 days if nobody takes them. We operate a no-kill animal shelter and we rely on contributions by caring people in order to pay for food, water, utilities, medicines, veterinarian care, and transport of animals to metropolitan areas where they have a better chance to be adopted. We spend an average of approximately $190 per animal in order to care for them and arrange for them to get adopted. We always struggle to get funding, but we are very close to closing our doors because we just can't get adequate funding! By placing an order through Schwans.com a portion of the sales will come back in support of our campaign!
