Hey folks!! We are doing this Schwan's Cares campaign to help out with the medical expenses of two of our most recent intakes, Biggey and Leah.
Biggey started out with a couple of ER vet visits and has been diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which is manageable with prescription food and prescription enzyme powder. He will be making multiple trips back to the clinic for weekly B12 shots and recheck exams. Once he is feeling a lot better and gets some more much needed weight on he will be having neuter surgery. The rescue will continue to cover all of his medical needs until he is adopted.
Leah has been at the vet clinic since intake as she was very ill when she was surrendered to the rescue. What was thought to be a severe urinary tract infection turned out to be a more serious issue with her bladder as an ultrasound showed it was extremely enlarged. She is being treated with IV fluids and very strong antibiotics and as of yesterday (5/29) the ultrasound recheck showed her bladder was much smaller so we feel we are going in the right direction with her treatment. She is eating very well now and is much perkier and even bouncy when she sees other dogs and the staff at the clinic. Leah still has a long road ahead of her and we may still be looking at exploratory bladder surgery. She still needs all of her vaccinations and will be spayed when she is much healthier. The rescue will cover all of her medical needs until adopted.
All proceeds from this campaign will go directly to the care of Biggey & Leah.
By placing an order through Schwans.com a portion of the sales will come back in support of our campaign!
