"One's destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things." --Henry Miller
Service learning seems like a gift we do for others, but it is truthfully a gift we give ourselves as well.
There is hope--hope that the future generation will not grow to accept hate and ignorance. Hope that our children not only experience kindness, but to become warriors of kindness themselves--helping others for no other reason than because we are all on this journey around the planet together--and the world is a much nicer place if we support one another instead of tearing each other down.
A group of Baldwin/Woodville middle & high school students are planning a service-learning experience to Costa Rica (July 2018). There, we will be participating in a homestay in El Roble, a community outside of Sarapiqui. We will work with the community on various projects--helping to paint their school, working in their gardens, etc. This opportunity is the best of both worlds--students will experience the benefits of both the service-learning and being submersed in a culture much different than their own.
Our student group as grown from 3 to 18 (WOW!) in just over 15 months. This experience will change lives, and we are humbled to be part of it.
Your donation to our group today will help offset the travel fees of the students. Any contribution (donation/sharing this page) will benefit our movement to be the change. Our gratitude for you overflows.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
